The UCLA Acting and Performance Institute is a six-week intensive program for high school students encompassing performance training classes, a final performance project, and occasional guest speakers and field trips. The program is designed for the student completing grades 9 through 12 who has a serious interest in theater and who seeks the discipline and training required for participation in a university theater program or a career in the performing arts.
No auditions are held for admission. Instead, each applicant must submit a letter of reference from a high school instructor verifying the applicant's ability to successfully participate in a disciplined and rigorous theater program. Please fax the letter to Dr. Patricia Harter, professor in the UCLA Department of Theater at (310) 825-3383.
