A six-week introduction to Mandarin for those who speak Mandarin at home. This program is designed for high school students wishing to engage in the intensive study of the fundamental structure of Mandarin grammar and readings from a wide range of classical and modern poetry and prose compositions.

The course will meet for six weeks during summer session A. Admission is limited to rising sophomores, juniors or seniors, and is by instructor consent only. After completing the online application, the language level of the student will be assessed via a telephone interview.

Students who complete the course will receive a letter and certificate and will be eligible to apply for high school credit at their individual high schools.
