Health Insurance Policy

International students holding F-1 visas must purchase a health insurance policy and a BruinCare policy through UCLA Summer Sessions. The cost of the health insurance policy and Bruincare is $330.00. Students who experience minor medical problems can be treated at the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center on campus. Please review the list of their services. Students can also receive care at the UCLA Medical Center (but must check prior to obtaining healthcare that the provider they have chosen is covered by this policy - this is the student's responsibility).

Details of all participating healthcare providers can be found at www.renstudent.com

Co-Pay Fee

It is also standard for students to be charged an additional co-pay fee for which they are responsible when seeking healthcare in the US - even with a health insurance policy. Students should be prepared to pay this co-pay at the time of receiving treatment, and to enquire about it before receiving any treatment.

Please be aware that many U.S. medical institutions do not accept health insurance policies from other countries. In addition, the cost of health care in the U.S. can be extremely high.
