There is no better place than UCLA, located at the crossroads of global culture, to begin building the foundation of knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s rapidly changing world. During the summer there is an exciting mix of UCLA students and visiting students from US and international universities and high schools.

Academic Courses – Choose from the best that UCLA has to offer! You can earn credits towards your degree by taking classes from award winning UCLA faculty in a variety of departments; From Engineering and Economics, to Musicology and Art History. Or take something completely different like the History of Rock-n-roll… The choice is yours!

ESL- Not quite ready for intensive study?  Summer Sessions also offers intermediate and advanced English language courses. Anyone can apply, whether you are still in high school or a seasoned professional looking to improve your English proficiency.

REGISTRATION

  1. International students may register for UCLA Summer Sessions through:

    • One of our registration centers, where staff members can assist in selecting classes, reserving on-campus housing, and obtaining health insurance. Fees are collected in local currency. Please refer to our list of international Registration Centers.
    • Or, by completing the Online Registration Form

  2. Create your URSA account and enroll in a minimum of 8 units

  3. Within a few days, you’ll receive an e-mail with instructions to complete the I-20 Request Form and upload your supplemental documents. We’ll send your I-20 in 10-15 business days.

  4. When your I-20 arrives in the mail, you’ll be ready to apply for the F-1 Visa at your local U.S. Embassy.

FEES


Summer Sessions Tuition is paid on a per unit basis.  This means that you will pay based on how many courses you enroll in and how many units (or credits) each course is worth.

International students are required to maintain at least 8 units. Below you can find a sample of what your total fees will look like for a 6-week session if you enroll in 9 units.
