Dr. Darel Engen earned a BA in Economics at UCLA in 1986, continued on at UCLA to earn an MA in Ancient History at UCLA in 1989 and a Ph.D. in Ancient Greek History in 1996. He wrote a dissertation on Athenian Trade in the 4th century BC. He held the position of part-time instructor at UCLA, Cal Poly Pomona, and Cal State LA between 1992 and 1997. Darel is currently a Professor in the Department of History at Cal State San Marcos. He has served as TA and Lecturer for the UCLA Travel Study History program in Greece since its inception in 1994.
