Academic Courses

During the summer, UCLA opens its door to high school students , as well as college students and working professionals. We invite you to come and study in a welcoming environment that appreciates diversity and global perspectives.

Students must be at least 15 years of age by September 1, 2014 to enroll in academic courses. High school students who are 14 years of age or older by September 1 may participate in our Precollege Summer Institutes.

High school students enrolled in academic courses may apply for housing through UCLA Housing Services.

Please note that UCLA Housing Services requires students to be 16 or older by June 1, 2014 to be eligible and does not provide supervision.

Whether you are trying to get into that impacted course you couldn’t during the academic year, exploring your career options, completing those last few courses to graduate, or even taking your first college course as a high school student, UCLA Summer Sessions is here to help you with the next step in your academic career.

Over 700 of the UCLA academic courses, including ONLINE , are offered during the summer in two sessions, Session A and Session C .

UCLA academic courses delivered online carry the same unit value and UCLA degree credit, and transcripts do not indicate if a class was taken online or on campus. If you enroll in online courses only, the campus/registration fee will be waived.

Whether you will be working full time with inflexible hours or want to study at the comfort of your home, online courses provide an alternative solution to your academic needs.
