The Dashew Center for International Students and Scholars (DCISS) coordinates activities in the summer to expose you to popular American activities. Past events have included sporting events, concerts at the famous Hollywood Bowl and city bus tours.
The American Culture and Conversation Program (AC&C) is a 6-week class in which you will learn all about American Culture, idioms, slang, history, humor, as well as improve your conversation skills. You will get to meet people from other countries, share global perspectives on world events and cultures and learn all of those strange words and phrases that Americans say. This program is free, but due to high demand, you must sign up for it and attend all sessions. Check the DCISS’s website for more details.
California Tours is a private tour agency, not affiliated with UCLA, who has years of experience in providing tour options for students at various campuses. Additional group tours to popular destinations such as Disneyland, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and San Francisco will also be available. California Tours representatives may be on campus to provide additional information or online.
