Dr. Patricia Harter has lived, traveled, and conducted research in Asia over the last 30 years. She earned her Ph.D. in Asian theater from the University of Hawai'i and is currently an Associate Professor in UCLA's Department of Theater. Professor Harter has directed numerous plays using Asian theater performance technique. Most recently, she directed a production of a Japanese folk-story combining Indonesian shadow theater with modern electronic techniques. She is also conducting research on images of Hanuman in Southeast Asia. In addition to leading the Acting and Performance Institute for High School Students, she has also directed UCLA's Arts Bridge program. |
