Russian for Russian Speakers: A new course in Russian Literacy for High School Students is offered to teenagers who speak Russian at home and want to learn to read, write, and develop their literacy. The textbook for the class has been written specifically for Russian speakers in the United States, and will include interactive Web-based exercises, readings in 19th and 20th century Russian literary classics, viewing and discussion of Russian films, and lectures on Russian culture.

The course will meet for six weeks during summer session A. Only high school students may enroll in the class. Instructor approval is required to enroll in this class. Students who complete the course will receive a letter and certificate and will be eligible to apply for high school credit at their individual high schools.
