Instructions for the Institutes Retrieve Form

Before May 1, to add a program:

  • Retrieve your online registration form at the Summer Institutes Web site
  • Click on the link "Retrieve Your Application
  • You will need to enter your registration number, program title, and personal information to verify your identity
  • Enter the five-digit registration number (numbers only) as sent via e-mail upon initial completion of the online registration form
  • Enter the first name of the student
  • Enter the last (family) name of the student
  • Select the month, day, and year of the student's date of birth
  • Under “Program,” use the drop-down menu to select the program that the student is presently enrolled for during the summer
  • Click on the link “Continue”
  • Under the category "Options," click on the link "Update My Registration"
  • Review your current enrollment and mailing address information
  • Under the category “Add a New Program,” view a list of the programs available
  • On the left-hand side, click on the box that corresponds to the program of choice one at a time
  • Click on the link "Make Changes"
  • Make payment of deposit
  • For programs with instructor consent, you will not be able to make payment until your application has been approved by the instructor
  • Make certain that an E-mail of Confirmation was received from Institutes (institutes@summer.ucla.edu) that verifies the transaction along with further instructions
  • Make final payment via University Records System Access (URSA), UCLA's online records system
  • Final payments must be made on the Summer Sessions BruinBill account via URSA

After May 1, to add program:

  • Click on the link "Retrieve Your Application
  • You will need to enter your registration number, program title, and personal information to verify your identity
  • Enter the five-digit registration number (numbers only) as sent via e-mail upon initial completion of the online registration form
  • Enter the first name of the student
  • Enter the last (family) name of the student
  • Select the month, day, and year of the student's date of birth
  • Under “Program,” use the drop-down menu to select the program that the student is presently enrolled for during the summer
  • Click on the link “Continue”
  • Under the category “Options,” click on the link "Cancel My Registration"
  • Review the Cancellation Policy
  • Click on the link "Yes, Drop Me From the Program"
  • Make certain that an E-mail of Confirmation was received from the Institutes (institutes@summer.ucla.edu) that verifies the cancellation/drop

  • Enter the first name of the student
  • Enter the last (family) name of the student
  • Select the month, day, and year of the student's date of birth
  • Under “Program,” use the drop-down menu to select the program that the student is presently enrolled for during the summer
  • Click on the link “Continue”
  • Under the category "Options," click on the link "Switch My Program"
  • Select the program of choice
  • Click on the link "Drop original program and switch to the new program"
  • For programs with instructor consent, you will not be able to make payment until your application has been approved by the instructor
  • Make certain that an E-mail of Confirmation was received from the Institutes (institutes@summer.ucla.edu) that verifies the transaction along with further instructions
  • If applicable, make payment for new program

To upload files (Art) and (Global Women's Health and Empowerment)

  • Retrieve your online registration form at the Summer Institutes Web site
  • Click on the link "Retrieve Your Application
  • You will need to enter your registration number, program title, and personal information to verify your identity
  • Enter the five-digit registration number (numbers only) as sent via e-mail upon initial completion of the online registration form
  • Enter the first name of the student
  • Enter the last (family) name of the student
  • Select the month, day, and year of the student's date of birth
  • Under “Program,” use the drop-down menu to select the program that the student is presently enrolled for during the summer
  • Click on the link “Continue”
  • Under the category "Options," click on the link "File Upload "
  • For Art:
  • Upload "First Sample" by clicking "Browse" to locate the file and then click "Upload File" to submit
  • Upload "Second Sample" by clicking "Browse" to locate the file and then click "Upload File" to submit
  • Upload "Third Sample" by clicking "Browse" to locate the file and then click "Upload File" to submit
  • Upload "Fourth Sample" by clicking "Browse" to locate the file and then click "Upload File" to submit
  • Make sure to review the specifications required to upload files correctly:
    • File Types Accepted: jpg,jpeg
    • File Restrictions and Image dimensions: 500 x 1024 pixels
    • Image dimensions must be no smaller than 500 and no larger than 1024 pixels
  • For Global Women's Health and Empowerment:
  • Upload "CV" by clicking "Browse" to locate the file and then click "Upload File" to submit
  • Make sure to review the specifications required to upload files correctly:
    • File Types Accepted: .pdf
  • Confirm that each sample is uploaded successfully with the statement "Your file was uploaded successfully. Uploading again will overwrite existing."
  • Click on the link "Go Back "
  • Make certain that an E-mail of Confirmation was received from the Institutes (institutes@summer.ucla.edu) that verifies the files were uploaded
