
The UCLA Anderson School of Management hosts a four-week intensive summer program addressing management and marketing challenges in the sports industries. The Certificate Program in Sports Entertainment and Media Management is designed as an upper division undergraduate program for students from a variety of backgrounds seeking to explore and understand the changing face of the sports business. The Summer Institute is comprised of the following upper division Mangement courses: Sports Management 2015: Transforming Business Models in the Sports Industries and Changing Sports Entertainment Landscape: Challenges and Perspectives in Sports Marketing.
In addition to class time, students will attend several field trips to gain on-site exposure to the sports industries. (Click here to view the program layout.)
This program is designed and taught by Nelson Gayton, Executive Director and Lecturer, Entertainment and Media Management Institute, UCLA Anderson School of Management. Nelson serves as an adjunct faculty member at a number of institutions, including UCLA and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches Media, Sports and Entertainment Marketing. He has served as a venture capitalist and advisor to a host of blue-chip media, sports and entertainment related organizations, including Fox Sports, College Sports Television, the Field Generals, the Philadelphia Eagles, and America Online.
