The UCLA Applied Linguistics Summer Institute in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) is a 6-week program designed for those who intend to teach or tutor English as a foreign language abroad. The program is designed for novice teachers without formal training in language teaching and provides basic language teaching and classroom management skills. Students will practice a variety of techniques for teaching listening, speaking and pronunciation, reading, writing, and grammar.
Admission to the program is by instructor consent. Please remember that even after you have been approved, official enrollment is on a first-come, first served basis.
This program will be offered during both Sessions A and C.
