STUDENTS
UCLA is a great place to be with a multitude of resources. We encourage you to make the most of your time and have fun! Various social activities & group tours are offered throughout the summer to help you meet new people and explore beyond the campus.
Housing
Housing
The university offers furnished residence halls and residential suites within easy walking distance of classrooms, libraries, and recreational facilities for summer students who are 15 years of age or older by the first day of summer (i.e., June 21, 2021).
Most students find living on campus to be a convenient and enjoyable option during Summer Sessions. Housing is available for periods of 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12 weeks.
To learn more about campus living, take the virtual tour of the residential halls and watch our UCLA housing videos.
For students who prefer the independence of living off-campus, UCLA also offers furnished University Apartments near campus. To be eligible for University Apartments, students must be 18 years of age or older.
For more information on summer housing opportunities, please visit UCLA Housing Services.
Student Activities
UCLA Recreation
All students have access to UCLA Recreation but some classes may require a fee. You must show a valid BruinCard to use the services.
DCISS (Dashew Center for International Students and Scholars)
The Dashew Center coordinates many activities during the summer. Be informed by checking their upcoming events. Past activities have included sporting events, concerts at the famous Hollywood Bowl and city bus tours.
The American Culture and Conversation class (AC&C) is a 6-week class (offered during Session A), in which you will learn about American Culture, idioms, slang, history, humor, as well as improve your conversation skills. This program is free, but due to high demand, you must sign up for it and attend all sessions.
California Tours
California Tours is a private tour agency, not affiliated with UCLA, who has years of experience in serving UCLA students and community. They offer many short trips and LA tours during the summer. You can check the full schedule on the Activities Calendar.

Student Resources
BruinCard - The Official UCLA ID
The BruinCard is your passport to life at UCLA. It is the primary student identification, library, and gym card. The BruinCard also serves other purposes both on and off campus and the convenience of all the included features makes it a must-have necessity.
Starting June 1, you can pick up your BruinCard at the BruinCard Center in 123 Kerckhoff Hall. The BruinCard Center is open weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For more information, visit www.bruincard.ucla.edu.
LIBRARIES AND COMPUTER LABS
The UCLA Library is among the top 15 largest library systems in the United States. There are 13 libraries around the campus. You can check the Map of All Libraries to find their locations.
Several Computer Labs and printing centers are also available throughout the campus. CLICC Computer Lab services include access to laptops, printing, and equipment checkout. A full list of printing and computing labs on campus is available at IT Resourses @ UCLA.
CENTER FOR ACCESSIBLE EDUCATION
The UCLA Center for Accessible Education (CAE) facilitates academic accommodations for enrolled students with documented permanent and temporary disabilities. Accommodations are designed to promote successful engagement in the UCLA academic experience. The CAE is committed to ensuring all UCLA students can participate fully in the numerous educational opportunities on our campus.
Central Ticket Office
Students can find discounted tickets for all UCLA cultural events at the Central Ticket Office (CTO). The CTO also offers discounted student tickets to campus athletic events, theme parks, movies and bus passes.
Parking
Summer Sessions parking permits will be available beginning June on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students have the option to purchase a summer term permit. A term permit for summer is generally more cost effective and convenient than paying for parking on a daily basis.
Daily permits are also sold on a space-available basis at any of the Parking and Information booths located throughout the UCLA campus. Motorcycles, mopeds and motor scooters do not require parking permits, but may park only in designated areas.
Please review the Transportation and Parking Services webpage for additional information on parking options.
